Father's name [22 April 2011]

As a casual passer-by, is Sarah's surname an intentional altering of the her father's name? Is it a Soundex match gone wrong? Is Rufus the mother's name (then she should be Unknown Rufus)? Is it a name from a non-entered marriage? I'm interested because Roop is a valid alternative for Roup.--Brear47 23:24, 21 April 2011 (EDT)
