Need more information [29 December 2009]

It is hard to tell what is intended when we have a family page for Samuel Cole and Mercy Barnes and their person individual pages, and nary a date or location on any of them to tell us who they are meant to be. All we find are a set of parents for Samuel named Ephraim Cole and Ruth Arnold, who I can determine by quick searching were married in Rhode Island in 1746. But VR Rhode Island doesn't give the births of any children for this couple so I can't tell if they had a son Samuel, nor do I find any Samuel Cole and Mercy Barnes getting married in Rhode Island. I find Samuel Cole and Mercy Barnes getting married in Plymouth, Mass., but in 1728, which is clearly not compatible with his parents getting married in 1746. So I can't tell if we are talking about two couples, both named Samuel Cole and Mercy Barnes, or if a mistake was made about Samuel's parents. Since Mercy is listed as a descendant of William Bradford (but not how), I have to assume she is the Mercy Barnes of Plymouth, who was a descendant of William Bradford, and that the identification of Samuel's parents was in error. --Jrich 11:58, 29 December 2009 (EST)
