What is the source for Samuel having 17 children? The source I have available to me has him with ten children. I dont have access to the Chain Book, so Im not sure if it differs.--Daniel Maxwell 08:34, 3 August 2012 (EDT)

Both the 1862 Chapin Genealogy and the 1924 Chapin Book give him seven children: Japhet, Henry, Catharine, David, Josiah, Sarah, and Hannah. These are apparently only the ones who came to New England or were born here. The 1929 NEHGR article adds three who did not live to come with their family: Samuel (probably), Honor and John.--jaques1724 17:21, 26 February 2016 (UTC)
