Person talk:Patty White (3)

More Research Needed [12 October 2017]

May be "d/o Joel White and Martha Hall, more research needed" based on Pierce saying "Josiah Hall, ... [married] Martha White, of Northbridge, ... "

Pierce gives absolutely no information except the name and the impression that she was living in Northbridge when she married. So why create the page? Searching, even for another person, returns a "Martha Hall" result with no dates, so people searching get results that don't have enough information to tell who the page describes. Just create the family page and leave the wife uncreated. When somebody creates the wife and goes to create her marriage they should, in the normal process, find the Family and attach to it. If they don't and create duplicates, it is easier to detect duplicate marriages than duplicate people because you have unique combinations of four names plus a date rather than two names with no dates.

You could still add a note to the existing Patty Hall page saying she might be the person with a link to the family page

Or else, actually do the research so a useful page can be posted, or in this case, linked to. The proof turns out to be freely available, and in the first place one might look: the father's will.

Here the will names daughter "Patte Hall the wife of Josiah Hall". --Jrich 13:45, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
