Person talk:Mehitable Haven (1)

No sources so assuming this is a mistake. [5 May 2009]

Mehitable was shown as the daughter of Family:Richard Haven and Susannah Newhall (1), b. 20 May 1667. This just happens to be the birth date of Moses Haven according to VR Lynn, p. 1:181, and there is absolutely no indication that Moses had a twin, nor is the birth of Mehitable on this date mentioned, nor is Mehitable mentioned in this family in the sources I perused, nor is she named in her father's will.

Instead, the birth of a Mehitable on 30 Jan 1701-2 is given on the line immediately above Moses, in the published VR Lynn, so it is no stretch to assume somebody copied the name Mehitable, and then looking back for the rest of the line, accidentally grabbed the data off of Moses' birth record by mistake. So I have moved into this family, demoting her to granddaughter from daughter.

The source given was Ancestral File G8B3-P3, which has over 20 people listed as submitters, which just proves numbers don't equal truth. Not to be too smug, nothing here guarantees there wasn't a Mehitable in Richard's family, but if somebody thinks so, they better show some justification a little more substantial than an AFN.
