Glad to find a common ancestor on WeRelate. I am interested in the Childress side and looks like you interest is the Henry side but we meet here at least. Mary Eva's grandfather was Goen Childress and my G2 Grandfather Stephen B Childress is believed to be a son. Only circumstantial evidence so far but I have been researching the rest of Goen's family in hope of finding more proof. I'll connect Mary Eva's father, John David to Goen. Did you know that the primary Childress researcher, L.A. Childress has found that John David was native American? Cheraw which is described as Eastern Sioux. John David was born in Treaty territory of what is now Marshall Co., Mississippi that family had moved there from what is now Humphreys Co. Tennessee but was at that time treaty territory or Indian Land of North Carolina.
