Person talk:Lawrence Waters (1)

A little hyperbole? [3 May 2009]

The comment "one of first settlers in Watertown, Mass" is a little misleading. Watertown was founded 1630 wikipedia entry. Savage says Waters was in America 1634 or before, probably meaning 1634 is the first documented record. He does not appear in the The Great Migration Study covering up to 1633. Watertown was one of the larger settlements, rivaling Boston in population, so likely there had been hundreds of earlier settlers by 1634. --Jrich 12:09, 3 May 2009 (EDT)

Parentage [15 April 2015]

It is doubtful that Lawrence Waters is the son of James Waters and Phebe Manning. He was born in Shropshire, while the rest of the family were Londoners. Also, his birth is very close to the sister and brother immediately above and below in age. --Goldenoldie 14:22, 15 April 2015 (UTC)
