quote from Carter's Story of Dundas [2 February 2013]

J. Smyth Carter's "The Story of Dundas" (1905) on p.445 says "John VANCAMP settled in the front of Matilda, not far from the western boundary of the township. His sons were Peter, John, and Elijah." This is the only place I've seen a Peter given as a son of John (1766). One thinks this might be incorrect, at least as to an adult Peter, although it makes sense that he might have named a son (probably first) Peter after his father; if such a Peter died young there would be little record. Perhaps Carter had heard something we haven't, or perhaps he confused another Peter as being a son of John's. --Robert.shaw 01:02, 3 February 2013 (EST)
