Source:Stearns, Ezra Scollay. History of Plymouth, New Hampshire gives the middle name as Lyman on p. 15 and again on p. 539. What is the source of a middle name of Lowell? --Jrich 10:08, 20 March 2013 (EDT)

The death record of his son also gives his name as John Lyman Ayer. I don't know where John Lowell Ayer comes from but this being a collaborative website, you need to provide proof that it is correct that carries as much authority as the sources cited, because right now everything that gives any middle name says Lyman. --Jrich 21:31, 24 May 2015 (UTC)
