Janet Bruce's parents [22 June 2011]

I have seen two different parental lines for Janet Bruce, wife of William Livingston. According to "The Scots Peerage, Vol. 5, page 187 (in the pages for Livingston, Viscount Kilsyth), by James Balfour Paul, 1908 (available on google ebooks), the father of Janet Bruce was Robert Bruce of Airth. Other sources (e.g. http://www.robertsewell.ca/kilsyth.html) list John Bruce of Airth (quoting Florence Van Rensselear's book, "The Livingston Family in America and its Scottish Origins", NY, 1949, p. 46). Does anyone have a definitive source/answer as to the correct lineage?--Rtengel 15:23, 22 June 2011 (EDT)
