Den Bommel [26 February 2012]

Hi Ben, I believe that Den Bommel is a voormalige gemeente in Zuid-Holland. I redirected your Place:Den Bommel, Texel, Noord-Holland, Netherlands page to Place:Den Bommel, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands. --Jennifer (JBS66) 09:58, 26 February 2012 (EST)

Jennifer, you are correct, it should be Zuid-Holland instead of Texel. I have another problem: I entered the gedcom file without the sourses so I was wondering what to do. Enter a new file or update the records manual. I know that in both cases it will be a lot of work but I think that a manual update will take more time. Please advise.--BenS 10:37, 26 February 2012 (EST)
Well, I think uploading the gedcom again will be less prone to typing errors and make be quicker in the long run. You'll need to wait a couple of hours to make sure that all of your new pages have been indexed. I can help match the pages in your gedcom if you'd like. --Jennifer (JBS66) 10:50, 26 February 2012 (EST)
I will enter the new gedcom tomorrow and take care of matching. Is there a way to select the citynames from the WeRelate database.--BenS 11:05, 26 February 2012 (EST)
Can you explain what you mean by selecting the citynames from the WR database? --Jennifer (JBS66) 11:36, 26 February 2012 (EST)
Groningen, Groningen, Netherlands instead of Groningen, Groningen, Netherlands|Groningen, GR, NL--BenS 16:54, 26 February 2012 (EST)
You would need to edit the placenames in your Aldfaer database with a global search and replace. If your gedcom says Groningen, GR, NL, the software matches it to the database but keeps your text (Groningen, Groningen, Netherlands|Groningen, GR, NL). The only other way would be to edit each person or family page either during gedcom upload or after. --Jennifer (JBS66) 17:08, 26 February 2012 (EST)
