Person talk:Jacob Butterfield (1)

death date [24 November 2013]

I removed death date of 12 Jan 1725. As indicated by his wife's remarriage in Sept 1725, a death on 12 Jan 1725 would not be unreasonable. However, the wife's statement indicates Jacob died when she was pregnant with the youngest child, Jacob, who was born 2 Apr 1724. Therefore, 12 Jan 1725, even if 12 Jan 1724/25 was meant, would be impossible. No death record is found in Chelmsford VRs. What is found is the burial of some Jacob on 12 Jan 1774. So it appears somebody assumed this was an error that meant 1724, and so assumed his death was 12 Jan 1724/25, and eventually it became 12 Jan 1725 by repeated copying. If there is any validity to this wild speculation, it would have to be 12 Jan 1723/24... But I wouldn't take the word of an AFN for it. --Jrich 04:23, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
