Person talk:Henry Peter Keffer (1)

Two people, or one? [27 January 2013]

I am not the expert on this family, but I'd like clarification.

I have read that Henry Peter, who married Margaret Oster, was the son of Peter. I have also read that Henry Isaac married Margaret Oster. He was supposedly the son of Peter's sister, Sara, and an Anton Pfaff. It would make sense that Peter might raise his sister's child, but I cannot tell if there were two Henrys or one. Both seem to claim the same birth day.--Jiimyk 10:52, 27 January 2013 (EST)

Hello. I didn't know whether you had kept up your interest in WeRelate or not.

I've just started to add the marriage details to the file this afternoon. Henry was the first one to make me feel I was tearing my hair out. However, I think he is neither of the ones you speak of, but an older Henry who married Mary Margaret Oster. I want to look into this further too. Details have been obtained from Ancestry and a couple of other sources.

I am not a member of the family. I found the WeRelate family because I wanted to fix the place "York Co, Ont., Canada" which was showing up red in the place names. However, I soon found the three Quantz girls. One of them had George Quantz as witness to her marriage. George Quantz married Mary Charlotte Phillips who is a sister of my great-great grandmother Margaret Phillips Arnold. The Quantzes and the Arnolds were long-standing friends. The death registration for the longest lived Quantz girl gives her parents as the same as I have for George Quantz. This is not on WeRelate yet. [It is now. 10.02.2013] Regards (Pat) --goldenoldie 12:23, 27 January 2013 (EST)

Please see my query on Person:Henry Isaac Keffer. He should really be a Pfaff, unless... I have only been checking the Keffers so I haven't found anything more about him.
Henry Peter who married Margaret Ann Oster eventually dropped the Peter and became just another Henry Keffer, by the looks of it. --goldenoldie 14:12, 10 February 2013 (EST)
