Ephemeral Notes [3 August 2008]

The following Notes have been temporarily captured pending examination. They should be deleted after use.

From Georgia Whitson Scudder Searches Volume II, No. 2; Spring 1990 page 12

T-2-1-1-2 Hannah, baptized 1730/31, Huntington; [a] died 1791, apparently at Dix Hills (Close to Huntington); married Timothy Carll, 14 Apr 1752, Huntington [a] Timothy, who served as a captain in the Revolution, is a son of Ananias Carll, Sr, and Hannah Platt of Dix Hills. timothy was born 16 May 1729, Huntington, died 23 Jan 1805, apparently Dix Hills. Hannah and Timothy had 5 children.

Cooley has Hannah married Ananias, Jerusha married Timothy. Soper has Hannah married Timothy, Jerusha married Ananias. Soper cites Huntington Church Records for the marriage of Jerusha to Ananias.

The Scudder Association Bulletin XVIII, October 1957 has Hannah m. Ananias and Jerusha m Timothy The Scudder Association Bulletin, XXIX; December 1978, page 6 has Hannah married Timothy.

I believe that Hannah married Timothy based on Soper's citation and the later Scudder Publications (Searches, Spring 1990 and Bulletin December 1978). I think Bulletin XVIII is incorrect and probably either based on Cooley rather than direct research or a typographical error. It has happened!
