Adopted? [16 February 2014]

The note that she was adopted has been on this page since it was created in 2007. I suspect that this is an error created from an artifact in the GEDCOM file. Does anyone know of any evidence that she was adopted? The VR of her birth identifies her as Joseph's daughter, but since it is based on a court record, it could have been recorded well after her birth.--DataAnalyst 14:05, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

Early Ipswich records were destroyed in a fire, I don't remember the exact date. As a result, the early VR from that town consist of the records gleaned from the quarterly returns to the County which were required of all towns in Massachusetts Bay. Absent the appearance of any evidence of adoption, it seems safe to conclude that she was the biological child of Joseph and Mary (Baker) Safford.--jaques1724 04:56, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
