Person talk:Elizabeth Nesbit (2)

Date of death [30 November 2015]

I have not identified any recorded death that matches this Elizabeth (Robson). The death referred to in the GRO indexes is for a child who is not related (I've bought the certificate).--Stephen C 15:07, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for that information. I wonder what happened to her then? I'll amend the page accordingly.--RichardK 19:03, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

Have you tried obtaining either of these death certificates?

d. Elizabeth Bellamy ROBERTSON, September Quarter 1854, Glendale Registration District, Vol. 10b, page 181

d. Elizabeth ROBERTSON, December Quarter 1854, Glendale Registration District, Vol. 10b, page 201

I know the name is Robertson rather than Robson, but when Walter died in 1892 his name was registered as Robertson too.--RichardK 06:32, 26 October 2013 (UTC)

At this point no. I'm waiting on the birth certificate for Elizabeth ROBSON (b.1854) first so that I have the clearest set of certain dates to work from. I am certainly intending to work my way through the Robertson deaths, as time and possibly more importantly funds permit.--Stephen C 10:16, 26 October 2013 (UTC)

I know what you mean about funds! Not the cheapest hobby this, is it? Good idea to get Elizabeth's birth certificate though.--RichardK 05:48, 27 October 2013 (UTC)

Elizabeth Robson died 13 October 1854, of a uterine haemorrhage immediately following the birth of her daughter Elizabeth. The death was registered (as Robertson) eight days later, reported by Margaret Campbell, who was a younger sister. The birth of the daughter Elizabeth was registered by Walter (as Robson)on the 23rd October.

This leaves a three year window in which Walter might have married Jane Patterson.--Stephen C 12:26, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

Thanks Stephen - I've amended the page accordingly. Regards Richard.--RichardK 21:32, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

Parents and siblings [26 October 2013]

I have Elizabeth Nesbit's father as William Nesbit, born Crookham c.1794, died Crookham 12 Jun 1873. This is confirmed on the 1861 census, where grandson Alexander is living with the family. Her mother was called Alison, sometimes known as Alice, born Ancroft c.1795, died Crookham 11 Nov 1868. I don't have a date for their marriage. They lived in Crookham and I believe they had at least seven other children - James (c.1815), John (c.1821), George (c.1823), Mary (c.1825), William (c.1828), Margaret (c.1831), Christopher (c.1835)--Stephen C 20:54, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for that (and the e-mail). From my point of view it's Walter's second wife Jane Patterson that my line descends from, so I haven't done much research into his first wife Elizabeth Nesbit other than noting her existence. Sounds like you could create some additional pages to add depth to the story with what you know. Regards, Richard.--RichardK 06:13, 26 October 2013 (UTC)

Yes, I'll have to get up to speed with the editing techniques here first!--Stephen C 10:18, 26 October 2013 (UTC)
