Duplicate Parents -- Is this a work in progress? [25 June 2019]

Hi, Mike, I see you have added two sets of parents for Camille. As you know, we aren't supposed to have Duplicate Pages on WeRelate. Are you working to resolve the problem? If not, then both sets of parents should be entered as speculative parents, using the templates found on Assertions. If you are not working to resolve the conflict, or if you are not interested in adding the templates yourself, I can do it for you. Thanks, Gayel --GayelKnott 15:49, 25 June 2019 (UTC)

Hi, Gayle. I just uploaded a large Aucoin GEDCOM yesterday (some of Judy's people) and began going through it page-by-page this morning, tidying up and correcting errors and so on. I hadn't gotten to Camile yet, but I'll fix that in just a minute. It's just an ordinary, unintentional duplication. There were a bunch of Family Matches in the Review -- most of them people I had uploaded last year, and now there's new stuff -- but I see Camile and his wife were there only with full baptismal names. The new version had only their "plain" everyday names, which is probably why they weren't seen as the same couple. Strange. --MikeTalk 19:29, 25 June 2019 (UTC)
Thanks, Mike. Not a rush. Just wanted to know whether I should step in or keep my hands off. You would know better what needs to be done, so glad you will take care of it. Gayel --GayelKnott 20:29, 25 June 2019 (UTC)
Judy has been hip-deep in DNA testing the past couple of years and she's been trying to get as much of her extended family onto Ancestry and WeRelate as possible, to help link up with new relatives. Being Acadian, of course, she connects to nearly all other Acadians, and at least five or six different ways each. I've been taking chunks of her lineage and poring through the BR & NO diocesan volumes, trying to document everything. And it all gets to WR eventually. My method has always been to park a new upload in a temporary tree and then go through it all, one page at a time, cleaning everything up. That can take several days -- plus, I end up with a list of additional sources I need to find. --MikeTalk 21:44, 25 June 2019 (UTC)
