Marriage place and death place [10 January 2015]

Hi

I notice you have described the marriage and death places for this man differently. Were you just abbreviating Aston Subedge to Aston or do you know if they are two different places? There are four different places in Gloucestershire with the name Aston:

• Just plain "Aston" which is a hamlet of Avening
• "Aston Subedge" -- a decent-sized village
• "Aston Somerville" -- a small hamlet that was transferred to Worcestershire sometime around 1890
• "Cold Aston" which used to be called Aston Blank

To make matters worse, there is another place named Cold Ashton.

You haven't given any sources for Anthony Porter or his descendants also born in Aston. If you could supply sources, other people might be able to figure out for you which Aston you meant.
