Person talk:Abigail Livermore (2)

death date [27 April 2011]

I removed the death date of "12 Jul 1710 Watertown, Middlesex, MA". Since the family page shows children being born long past this date, something is off. This death record in Watertown is for the first wife, Abigail Hastings, of John Warren. John and Abigail (Hastings) Warren were called John and Abigail Sr., while John and Abigail (Livermore) Warren were called John and Abigail Jr. The son David b. Watertown in 1708 belongs to John and Abigail Sr. Then all the rest of John Warren Sr.'s children are with wife Lydia, so it is relatively easy to keep the children straight. --Jrich 19:19, 26 April 2011 (EDT)

Cutter in Genealogical and personal memoirs relating to the families of Boston and eastern Massachusetts ,Vol 3 p 1569, says "(IV) Deacon John Warren, of Weston, son of Ensign John Warren (3), born March 15, 1684-5, died March 25, 1745. He married first, May 26, 1704, Sarah, born September 6, 1681, died July 9, 1705, daughter of Josiah and Lydia (Treadway) Jones; he married second. June 2, 1708, Abigail Livermore, died October 31, 1743; he married third, June 20, 1744, widow Lydia Bond, of Watertown. He was chosen deacon in 1733. Children: 1. Sarah, born June 25, 1705; married. October 19, 1725, Samuel Harrington. 2. Mary, baptized 1710; married, October 11, 1730, Joseph Liv..." Is that incorrect?--Scot 20:16, 26 April 2011 (EDT)

I don't think I said anything that contradicted any of this. I can't speak to its truth as I was working on the other John and Abigail (the Abigail who d. 1710, the date which was erroneously on this Abigail's page). But, the death dates I added to this John and Abigail's pages do match exactly what Cutter said. The only possible confusion would be that I mentioned a wife Lydia, but it was another Lydia (Fiske) and it was the other John that I was referring to so it had nothing to do with this John and widow Lydia Bond. In summary: John Warren Sr., also son of a John Warren, b. 1678 in Watertown, m. (1) Abigail Hastings who d. 1710, m. (2) Lydia Fiske and he d. 1726. His widow m. (2) Benjamin Harrington. The John that Cutter is talking about is John Warren Jr., aka Deacon John. --Jrich 22:48, 26 April 2011 (EDT)
The part copied onto this page is not incorrect, but later in the article he attributes daughter Beulah to this family when she belongs to Family:John Warren and Lydia Fiske (1) as shown clearly by her birth record and a probate document cited by Bond. Cutter must have been trusting his friends too much, and copying from a family genealogy without checking the facts. --Jrich 08:55, 27 April 2011 (EDT)
