MR. ZIBA ALDRICH DIED July 23, 1841, aged 86 years. [Note: the memorial page mistranscribes the death date as July 22 when it gives the inscription.]
↑Source:Bassett, William. History of the Town of Richmond, Cheshire County, New Hampshire : From Its First Settlement, to 1882, p. 257, identifies Ziba's parents as Dr. Aaron Aldrich and Mary Wheat. This appears incorrect, presumably based on the assumption that since Dr. Aaron's son Solomon m. Rebecca Webber, the husband of Hannah Webber must be a brother? Abner names a son Ziba in his will. In 1784, Abner Aldrich of Richmond sells to Ziba Aldrich of Shrewsbury, VT, a farm that is part in Richmond and part in Swanzey (Vol. 10, p. 244), and in 1787, Ziba of Shrewsbury sells it to Nicholas Aldrich (Vol. 20, p. 186). These are the only deeds involving Ziba in Cheshire County. Finally, Ziba and Hannah name a son Abner, b. 1782 (here), but no son named Aaron apparently.
