Henry's mother was Eliza or Elizabeth R. Bunker, daughter of James Bunker, born in Fleming, Cayuga County, New York 4-25-1812. She died at the home of a daughter Mrs James Hewitt on 10-18,1903 in Genoa, Illinois.

She married William H. Vaughn in 1828. They moved from New York to Illinois in 1837. William died in 1870, possibly in Wheaton, Illinois.

She married W.M. Stewart in 1876. Her surviving children were: Dr. Charles Vaughn, Henry Vaughn Coon Rapids, Iowa: Mrs Rosetta Lee of Belvidere, Ill., Mrs Lyda Ketchum of Lincoln, Nebraska, Mrs. Nellie Ryder of Harvard, Illinois, Mrs Elvira Shipe of Irene Illinois,and Mrs Sadie Hewitt of Genoa, Illinois. She was also survived by a brother Dr. L. C. Bunker of Greensburg, Indiana.
