William lived on 200 acres in lot 3 concession 3 South of Dundas Street which they acquired in 1841 from William’s father, Isaac Van Norman, who lived next door on lot 4.

William built a brick home on lot 3 in 1848 which was still standing in 1973.

William Van Norman's terminal illness and death were described in the 1850 diary of his sister-in-law Catherine Bell-Van Norman

Gills may have died in Ohio (S1).

Almost all of their children who survived childhood moved to USA (mostly to Ohio): Horace (OH), Minerva (OH), Elwinda (OH), William (OH), Marinda (OH to CA),

Bertha (MI) Edgar (IN to CA), Arthur (NY).

I do not know the fate of Clarinda and the unknown child.
