Be it Remembered, THat on this Tweny-eighth day of September in the year ofour Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-eight before me, the Clerk of the Court of Quarter Sessions for the City and County of Philadelphia, personally appeared William Willis Turner
who, being duly sworn according to law, upon his solemn oath did declare depose and say, that he is a Native of England
now residing in the City of Philadelphia, age twenty fifth years, or thereabouts, and that it is BONA FIDE his intention to become a Citizen of th eUnited Sates, and to renounce, forever, all allegiances and fidelity to any Foreing Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty wahtsoever and particularly to the Queen of Great Britain and Ireland
of whom he is now subject.
In Witness Shere of, I have hereunto set my hand, and affixed the Seal of the said Cort, this 28th day of September in the year one thousand eight hundred and fifty-eight.

The Petition of William Willis Turner
A Native of England respectivully Sheweth,
That he declared on oath before the Clerk of Cout of Quarter Sessions of Philad@ on the Twenty Eighth day of September A.D. 1858 That it was as still is bona fide his intention to become a Citizen of the United States, andof renouncing forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prnce, Potentate, State of Sovereignty watever, and particularly to the Queen of Great Britain & Ireland
of whom he was at that time a subject. --- That your Petioner has resided within th eUnited States upwards of five years, and one year in the State of Pennsylvania last past, immediately preceding this his application to become a Citizen of the United Stats. That he never borne any hedreditary title, or been of any orders of nobility in his own or any other Country.
He therefore prays that on his making the proof, and taking the oath prescribed by law he may be addmitted a Citizen of the United States of Amercia. , and he will ever , &c. Wm. W. Turner
Thomas Elliott a Citizen of the United States of America, being duly sworn according to law, saith, that he knows and is well acquinted with William Willis Turner the Petitioner; that to his knowledge hehas resided in the United States five years, and one year last pastin the State of Pennsylvania, immediately preceding his application to be a Citizen; that during the said period he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of our Constitution, and well disposed to thegood order and happiness of the same.

I, William Willis Turner do swear that the contents of my petition are true; that I will support the Constitution of the United States, and I now renounce and relinguish any title or order of nobility to which I am now, or hereafter may be entitled, and I do absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Qeen of Great Britain and Ireland of who I was before a subject.

THe relatives and friends of the famly are respectfully invited to attend the funeral on Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock, from the residence of his sone (Mr. William W. Turner) No 2629 North Second street. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery.
