William Joseph Terry William Joseph Terry Confederate Records William Joseph Terry was born April 15, 1844 in Murray County. He was the third child of twelve. He is the son of William "Bill" Terry and Julia Roberts. He enlisted on March 11, 1862 as a Private in Company A, 39th Georgia Infantry. He was enlisted by L. W. Crook for a period of three years of the war. He was captured at Vicksburg, Mississippi on July 4, 1863 and released on July 22, 1863
