Wm was captured at Occoquan, VA (located SE of Manassas) on December 19, 1 862. The battle of Occoquan was a cavalry engagement and I had wondered h ow an infantryman gets captured in a cavalry engagement. A gentleman to ld me that it was common practice to use infantryman for guard duty. Wm w as confined at Richmond, VA Dec. 23, 1862. He was paroled at (what looks l ike) City Point, VA on January 6, 1863; reported to Camp Parole, MD Janua ry 7, 1863. He was send back to the regiment as of May 15, 1863.
