resided at Florida, NY but removed to Adams County, Ohio by 1814, to Clark County, IN in 1819, buying land there the following year.
William Roe's will was dated 7 Dec 1841 and probated 1 Oct 1845. He d. 3 Sept 1845. [His tombstone is] in New Washington, IN and indicates a slightly different birth date.

Beginning at the NE corner of said 1/4 Section Being in the Center of said Section running thence West with the line dividing the NW and SW 1/4s on 67 poles and 2/10 to a Water Beach a white walnut and Elm sapling corner to Andrew Bower thence SW with said Bowers Line, Twenty one and 4/10poles to a stone thence N 83 and 1/2 East 67 poles and 2/10 to a stone on the line thence N6 and 1/2 West 21 poles and 4/10s to the place of beginning

For land, Beginning 22 poles east of the SE corner of the SW1/4 of S5, thence W 90 and 4/10 poles to a stake thence N 100 and 90 poles to a stake thence E 70 and 4/10 poles to a stake thence S 160 poles to the place of Beginning, containing 90 acres one Rood and 24 poles
Also, a part of the SW1/4, S8 of the same Town and Range, Beginning at the NE corner of said 1/4 Section thence S 77 and 96/100 poles to a stake thence W 24 and 8/10 poles to a stake thence N 77 and 96/100 poles to a stake thence E 74 and 8/10 poles to the place of Beginning, containing 26 acres one rood and 31 poles, for a Total of 126 acres 3 roods and 15 poles.
With the exception of 9 acres that ha been deeded heretofore to Roe by Joseph Bower off the N end of the tract
