    William Franklin Rash

    Frank Rash, 92, of Boise, died at his home on Monday, Oct. 4, 1999.

    William Franklin (Frank) Rash was born March 22, 1907, in Mercer County, MO., to William T. and Florence (Tapscot) Rash. At the age of three he moved with his family to Long Valley, Idaho, later moving to Nampa where Frank was raised and educated.

    At 16, Frank began working for the Union Pacific Railroad on the section crew. He later transfered to train service. He retired in 1973, having worked in Nampa, Glenns Ferry, and Boise. He worked for Van Camp Brokerage from 1973 to 1978.

    After retiring Frank took up skiing at the age of 70 and was an avid skier at Bogus Basin until he was 88. He also enjoyed being physically fit and watching sports including football and being a BSU fan. Frank was a member of the Happy Hoofers and enjoyed the walks on the Green Belt.

    After Frank's first wife died leaving him with three small children, he married Eva Morgan. They were later divorced. Frank married Lona Jensen on Nov. 16, 1964.

    Frank was a member of the First Methodist Church, Glenns Ferry Masonic Lodge #80, AF & AM, the El Korah Shriners of Boise and the BSU Booster Club. While living in Glenns Ferry, he served on the local school board.

    Frank is survived by his wife, Lona; brother, Lewis E. Rash of Modesto, Calif.; children, Bill of Rupert, Jack of Pocatello, Richard of Tempe, Ariz., Ronald of Reno, Nev., and Bonnie Van Camp of Phoenix, Ariz.; and stepchildren, Calvin Jensen of Cambridge, Mass., Sharon Harris of Caldwell/Malad, and Gar Jensen of Apple Valley, Calif. Frank has 24 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

    Frank was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert Lewis Rash; brothers, Julius (Judy) and Floyd; sister Margaret Gross; and wives, Lenore and Eva.

    Memorial services for Frank will be held at 10 a.m. today, Friday, Oct. 8, at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Boise. Private interment will be at 1:15 p.m. today at Glenn Rest Cemetery, Glenns Ferry.

    Memorials may be made to the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital.
