Norma has the following; "Notes for William Joseph Rankin: ...death of Joseph Rankin occuried at his home...Saturday, November 2d, after an illness of something over a year, of tuberculosis, which developed from a spell of typhoid fever, followed by grip. Member of Salem Baptist Church. When quite a young man he was happily married to Miss Nancy Nix of Salem. He leaves a wife, daughter and two sons. Four children precede him to the grave. Buried: Poplar Cemetery. (other details) Keowee Courier, Issue: 6 Nov, 1912, Page 3, column A."

Poplar Springs Church is in the Bounty Land Community on Rt #28 between Seneca and Walhalla, South Carolina. Nancy remaried after the death of her first Husband William Joseph Rankin.
