    Matthew PHILLIPS married Philadelphia SWAINE according to the Sussex
    Marriage Index 25 Dec 1809 AS. It is wondered whether there was any chance
    that he could have been a widower on marriage? As for Philadelphia, I
    firmly believe she was baptised as Phillis 11 March 1790 AS (from BT's, I
    believe) d/o of John SWAINE and Mary RIDLEY, as one of Matthew and
    Philadelphia's sons was William Ridley PHILLIPS, the one that started this
    search, as it was his marriage certificate that I purchased, looking to see
    who Sarah WHITE married.
