    In the name of God Amen
    I William Petty of Clark County and State of Kentucky being weak and in very low state of health at present but of right and sound mind and memory thanks be to almighty God for all his mercies. I do ordain and appoint this to be my last will and testament that is first to say I would recommend my soul to almighty God that gave it and my body to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors.

    Next I will and bequeath unto my beloved wife Lettiss Petty all my horses cattle hogs and sheep and a Negro woman by the name of Margret and singular my household furniture with all my farming utensals that belongs to me at the time of my decease

    also I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Lettis Petty the plantation that I now live on with the land pertaining to it in dureing her lifetime and after her decease I will and bequeath to my youngest son Thomas Petty the plantation that I left to my wife Lettiss Petty with the land pertaining to it.

    Likewise I will and bequeath to my son Thomas Petty the Negro woman above mention with the horses cattle sheep hogs and household furniture with all the farming utansals on the place at my wife Lettis Pettys decease and

    further I will and bequeath to my son Frances Petty the land that he now lives on the bounds as follows begining at James Harris line running down a stream to the corner of my meadow from thence to Stoners fork of Licking from thence runing with William Hanies line to the corner of the publick road leading from Winchester to Mount Sterling and

    further I will that my Executors pay my daughter Rhoda Cast six pounds in property the rest of my children each Elizabeth Dodson Rachel Russell Hannah Ward Zachariah Petty William Petty Ransdell Petty John Petty James Petty Sarah Stevens Lias Petty one shilling sterling and no more

    further I appoint my beloved wife Lettis Petty and my son Thomas Petty my sole Executors to this my last will and testament disallowing and utterly revokeing all former wills and bequeaths made or appointed by me
    In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 1st day of May 1804

    At a court held for Clark County on the 27th day of May 1805
    This last will and testament of William Petty deceased was proven by the oaths of Charles Tracey and Sarah Tracey witnesses thereto subscribed and ordered to be recorded and on the motion of Lettiss Petty and Thomas Petty the Executors therein named who made oath thereto as the law decrees Certificate is granted them for obtaining probate thereof in due form giving security whereupon they together with Charles Tracey and William Haney their securities entered into and acknowledged their bond in the penalty of £1000 conditioned as the law directs for the due and faithfull administration of the said decedents estate and performance of his will.
