Near Pardee, Kan., March 20th, 1880, of pneumonia, Wm. Perry, in the 53d year of his age. The deceased was born in Salem county, N. J., June 9th, 1827. When about sixteen years old he united with the Shiloh Seventh-day Baptist Church, being baptized by the pastor, Eld. John Davis. Brother Perry came to Kansas probably in 1856. He lived in this community some fourteen years, and had been married just thirteen years the day of his death. He became a member of this church eleven years ago, maintained a Christian life, and died trusting in Christ as his Savior. Bro. Perry was a good surveyor, a good mechanic, and a useful man. He leaves a wife and three children. The unusually large attendance at his funeral showed how much he was respected.
