William Richard "Dick" Mains, 84, son of William "Bill" & Ruby (Hiscocks) Mains, was born October 1, 1928 near Casey, Iowa. He passed away May 1, 2013 at the Community Care Center in Stuart, Iowa. He graduated from Casey High School in 1946. On March 16, 1948, he married Janet Ford, of Guthrie Center, in Iowa City, Iowa. They made their home on the family farm near Casey. Dick was a life long farmer and was a co-owner of the Casey Implement. Janet passed away in 2000. On July 8, 2001, Dick married Vina (Emmons) Smith in Earlham, Iowa. They continued to live on the farm until 2009, when they moved into The Willows in Stuart. In 2011, they moved into the Community Care Center. Dick enjoyed woodworking, playing cards and board games. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Lion's Club, and the Casey United Methodist Church, where he served as a Lay Leader. Dick is survived by his wife, Vina Mains of Stuart; son, David (Mary) Mains of Rosemount, MN; daughters, Patricia Klinesmith of Walnut, IA and Cindy (Okey) Sykes of Sanford, NC; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; Step-daughters, Joyce (Larry) Egemo of Story City, IA and Connie (Paul Russell) Bartlett of Liberty, MO. Sisters, Virginia Kading of Batesville, AR and Roma (Glen) Bassett of Clive; and brother-in-law, Bill Tracy of Clive. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife Janet, sister Betty Tracy, and brother-in-law Donald Kading.

Memorials: Memorials may be left to the Casey United Methodist Church or Iowa Hospice

Visitation: 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, May 3, 2013 at Twigg Funeral Home - Guthrie 506 Prairie Street Guthrie Center Iowa 50115 (map/driving directions) Family will be present from 6-8 PM

Service: 10:30 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Casey United Methodist Church 100 E. 2nd St. Casey Iowa 50048 (map/driving directions)
