    OCCUPATION:
Minister. In 1639 Winthrop made a mild criticism of his ministry, saying "[Mr. Chancey] did maintain, also, that the Lord's supper ought to be administered in the evening, and every Lord's day; and the church at Sandwich (where one Mr. Leveridge was minister) fell into the practice of it; but that being a matter of no great ill consequence, save some outward inconvenience, there was little stir about it" [WJ 1:399].

BIRTH: About 1603 (said to be "son of Saville Leverich of Drawlington, Warwickshire" [Venn 3:78; GDMNH 428]).
DEATH: Newtown, Long Island, shortly before 19 June 1677 (when his son Caleb petitioned for administration [Stillwell 1:231]).
