William Judd, son of Thomas Judd, Esq. of Waterbury, married Mary Root, daughter of Stephen Root, of Farmington, Jan. 21, 1713. He lived a few years in Kensington Society, Farmington, (now Berlin,) and had two or three children born there. He removed thence to Waterbury, and finally settled near the center of the parish of Westbury, now the town of Watertown. His wife died Dec. 10, 1751. He married a second wife, widow Hope Lee. He died Jan. 29, 1772, aged 82. His will, dated Jan. 23, 1772, is recorded at Woodbury. He names in it five sons and two daughters. He was a Captain of the Militia, and a Representative to the General Court, many sessions.
