William's parentage is unknown at this time; however, he is known to be the grandson of one of the seven brothers that emigrated from Ireland to the American Colonies before 1743.

William was found on the Guernsey County tax duplicates for 1826 with land in Londonderry Twp. He was then found in Madison Twp. taxed for 1 horse (value $40) and 2 cows (value $16) for the years 1827 and 1828. That is all that is known of him, except for mention on his wife's tombstone.
