According to information emailed from Trudy Gaddie Rhoton in March of 2003, William set sail from Kin Kardine, Scotland to the new world, some time after he was born in 1695 and married in Virginia in 1718. He married a woman named Mary, who was born in Dale Parish, Chesterfield County Virginia in about 1700. Mary died in Chesterfield County as well (maiden name unknown).

Trudy Rhoton also sent a copy of an aerial photo of a place near Richmond, Virginia. The note on the image said "Originally Lucy Springs. Owned by William Gaddy, now called Beaufont Springs".
