1868 Will

In the name of God, Amen, I William Edmondson of the County of Washington and State of Virginia being of sound mind and Memory and considering the uncertainty of this frail and tramsitory life do therefore make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament, That is to say first after all my just and lawful debts are paid and dischardged, the residue of my estate real and personal I give bequeath and dispose of as follows, to wit: To my mother the use of all my estate real and personal during her natural lifetime, after her death To Esther A.A., Wm M.H.B. and Samuel F Edmondson, the three eldest children of my brother, Robert, I give each ($100.00) one hundred dollars and the remainder of any estate to be divided equally between all the children of my sister Margaret B.Reed and my brother Robert Edmondson share and share alike.I also desire that my executor place good plain substantial grave stones at my grave. Likewise I make constitute and appoint my uncle Robert Edmondson to be executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal the 15th day of May in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred and Sixty-six. Codicil. In addition to the amount bequeated to M.H.B. Edmondson eldest son of my brother Robert I give ($100.00) one hundred to be used to educate him, and to my brother Robert I bequeath my hay mare and also any money my said brother many be due me....10 March 1868. William was never married. His brother Robert and family moved to Missouri the year after Williams death in 1868. He is buried between his parents and his grandparents)at Old Moore Cemetery, Washington County Virginia
