    William, son of William and Elizabeth Earles, born 11 Feb. 1813, who, after travelling extensively in the Southern States of America, died of cholera in Montgomery Jail, Alabama, where he lay under suspicion of being friendly to the Creek Indians, 11 July 1836, having been confined as a prisoner of war amidst a crowd of people of that nation from 23 May 1836.
