Is he the W.A. Doolittle of Company C, 14th regiment, buried with his parents and some siblings at Evergreen Cemetery, Winchester, NH? (See Edith Atkins, p. 578.). Stone reads: "W. A. Doolittle, Co. G., 14th NH Inf."

He is found living with his parents in 1860, 1870 and 1880; appears to have remained single. No sign of him in 1900 census; nor is he in the 1890 veterans schedule.

O.P. Allen (p. 21) says: "unmarried, was a soldier in the war of the Rebellion."
