"William (Cable), was of Salem, Westchester County, N. Y., 1773, when he purchased in Stratford, and doubtless was father of Abner of Monroe (b. at Ridgefield, 6 Dec. 1759), to whom he conveyed his dwelling house. William had children bapt. at Salem: Ruamah, 13 May 1764; Elizabeth, 22 May 1768."
