From New England Families, Genealogical and Memorial, Volume 3, p. 1181: (II) William (2), son of William (1) Blanding settled at Rehoboth, Massachusetts, where in May 1680, it was agreed by the authorities of the town that he should have one-half acre of land or the common upon which to build a house. Mr. Blanding contributed money to the town to assist the expedition against the Indians 1675-76. He married September 4, 1674, Bethia Wheaton, and their children of Rehoboth record, were: William, of whom further; Samuel, April 11, 1680; Obadiah, April 15, 1683; Daniel, October 25, 1685; John, June 20, 1687; Ephraim, Oct 30, 1689; Noah, March 7, 1690.
