  2.   William Biggerstaff II (twin) married Rebecca Frend.

William Biggerstaff II (twin) (son of Biggerstaff and Biggerstaff) was born 1715741, 742, and died 1802743, 744. He married (1) Rebecca Frend.
The first date for Biggerstaffs in Virginia that we have is March 16, 1744 when John Chilton, Jr. sold William Biggerstaff 50 acres of land on the south side of Tom's Creek in Frederick county. From an examination of the U.S. geodetic survey this land was just about 20 miles from Conococheague where Samuel Biggerstaff of North Carolina was married to Elizabeth Moore in 1741. On the same day, March 16, 1744, John Chilton Jr. sold 50 acres of land to John Frend. To follow that a bit further, Elizabeth Davis Thompson
( Researcher) points out in her work on Isaac Gerringer Davis ( work done on the Davis and Biggerstaff families) that on February 24, 1748 William Biggerstaff and wife Rebecca sold to Thomas Harris his 50 acres on Tom's Creek. Elizabeth Thompson also shows that on March 14, 1748-49 William Biggerstaff witnessed a deed for John Frend and wife Elizabeth being land that he bought on March 16, 1744. On August 1762 William Biggerstaff of Frederick county received a grant for 309 acres in the long bottom of the North branch of the Potomac River. John Frend was granted 154 acres at the same time and in the same area. Both Johns and Williams land were adjacent to Thomas Rutherford's land on the south bank of the Potomac.
The next date for William Biggerstaff was on the rental rolls of Virginia in 1764. He was listed in Hampshire county, which would be correct. Hampshire was split from Frederick in 1754. The next record is from page 27 of the 1782 Virginia State census which places him in Hampshire and he was still there in 1790. William, William Jr. and John were in Prince Edward county in 1785.
The will of William Biggerstaff, dated July 20, 1802 names the following children: William, Drusilla (Throgmorton) relationship not actually noted, Samuel (also naming widow Ann, their son Isacc and others, John (also deceased at the time of the will but naming his sons William and John), Rebecca (Hartley - and her daughter Susannah), Hugh (whose children were mentioned but not named) William Biggerstaff Sr. had settled at Long Bottom. He had left Tom's Branch in Maryland along with John Friend, worked his way almost directly west up the Potomac to where it divided into a South Branch and a North Branch. Long Bottom was just a bit further up the river and across from present day Old Town and the creek of the same name.
William Jr. took out a grant in 1791 and his brother Samuel one in 1796.

William Biggerstaff II. had settled at Long Bottom. He had left Tom's branch in Maryland along with John Friend, worked his way almost directly west up the Potomac to where it divided into a South Branch and a North Branch. Long Bottom was just a bit further up the river and across from present day Old Town and the creek of the same name. William III took out a grant in 1791 and his brother Samuel one in 1796.
We have practically nothing on the sisters as far as land grants. A few final observations in reference to the possible realtionship between William Biggerstaff II (twin). and our North Carolina Samuel Biggerstaff. William II. bought land in now Maryland in 1744 is likely to have been born before 1720.
Samuel in North carolina has an estimated birth date of the latter half of 1719 or the first half of 1720. Samuel was married in 1741 only about twenty miles from where William II. bought land in 1744. They were possibly brothers, one working his way west ( William II.) and the other ( Samuel ) turning south. I am sure we may find the answer to this puzzle as others become interested in this work and help put the pieces together.
