Doris states that his birth date is April 29, 1898 not April 19, 1898 and

that his death date is July 12, 1963 not July 12, 1962. Since she is his daughter, her information is correct, not what I previously had.

When I was a little girl, my father worked for the Great Lakes Pipe Line

Company and we lived in Thayer, KS. We used to go to Independence, KS at least once a month to visit. I remember Albert & Nancy Gibson. Uncle Albert always had a bunch of dogs and Aunt Nancy ran a laundry. My Dad was transferred to Pawhuska, OK when I was in the 2nd grade. He quit his job there in 1943 and we moved to Arcadia, CA, where both of our parents worked in Defense Plants. Dad worked in the Ship Yards and Mom worked for US Rubber.

Mildred "Milly" also worked for US Rubber. DeWayne "Wayne had been in the

National Guard and when the War broke out he was shipped overseas in 1942. Leland "Lee" joined the Coast Guard in 1944. Stan & I continued in school.

Willard had an Aunt that lived in San Diego, CA by the name of

Alice Scribner.
