Vonda R. (Bowlus) Kokai June 19, 1916 - Fe. 27, 2004 Vonda R. (Bowlus) Kokai, 87, of Fremont, died early Friday morning at Elmwood Assisted Living, Fremont. She was born in Fremont to Roscoe and Jesse (Ferguson) <Foregerson>Bowlus. She married William "Bill" Kokai Nov. 30, 1974, in Fremont and he died Oct. 26, 1990. She was a secretary for Chemi-trol, OH Power and several other Fremont businesses. Vonda was a member of Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church, the Loyal Workers of the Church and United Methodist Church Women. She is survived by step-daughter Sherry Curran of Bakersfield, Calif.; brother Dale (Margaret) Bowlus of Gibsonburg; step-grandchild James Wilson III and several loving nieces and nephews. She is preceded by her parents, husband, sister Milred Peters and an infant sister. Visitation 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm Sunday, Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Fremont. Services: 11 am Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Duane Smith officiating. Burial: Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials to Hayes Memorial Church, American Diabetes Association or Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
