HEZLER, Mrs. Viola R. Kalamazoo, MI Died Monday morning, November 8, 2004. Viola was born March 14, 1910 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, a daughter of Irwin and Blanche (Bowen) Gunn. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident for 4 years, coming from Battle Creek. She attended the Stockbridge Avenue United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Julius Hezler Jr. in 1999; and a brother, Alford Gunn. She is survived by a son, Arlen (Eleanor) Miller of Kalamazoo; 3 grandchildren, Michaele (Scott Smith) Miller of Seattle, WA, Jeffrey (Donna) Miller of Milwaukee, WI, and Christopher (Stephanie) Measzros of Kalamazoo; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dayton Gunn of North Carolina; 2 sisters, Glenora Howes-Snyder of Wayland, and Erlene (Al) Johnson of Brooklyn, MI; and several nieces and nephews. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service. Private inurnment of cremains will be in West Oshtemo Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Greater Kalamazoo or the Stockbridge Avenue United Methodist Church. [Published in the Kalamazoo Gazette on 11/10/2004]
