Stoeckley Vincent I, died May 6 at his home in Kendallville. He suffered a fatal heart attack as he rested in bed. He was born in Avilla April 28, 1887, the son of Frank and Emma Stoeckley. He moved to Kendallville fifty years ago. He married Josephine B. Tartter on June 23, 1909. He was a member of the Kendallville Church of the Immaculate Conception, Holy Name Society and Catholic Knights of America. Surviving are the widow; two sons, Richard F., Kendallville, and Robert G. of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Mrs. R. L. Bassett, Whittier, Calif.; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Stoeckley, Mrs. Alfred Dutridge and Mrs. Therman Mettler, all of Toledo, Ohio; and four brothers, Joseph L. and Charles E. of Avilla, Gust A. of Fort Wayne and William F. of Toledo, Ohio. A son, Edward C., was killed in 1945 during WW II action in the Pacific war theatre. Funeral services were Monday in the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Burial, Lake View Cemetery. ~ 5-13-1954
