Data from Jacqueline Jo Reed (Boese) 9-20-93 advised that her maiden name was REED (so was maiden name of Older sister, Robin Sue (Gabriel). Father's surname name Reed was logically inserted on that advice. Verlon married Jean 1956 at Leesville, LA. Added data from Jackie 1 Nov 1993. Verlon's parents = Hiram Edward Reed and Della Birch. His other two wives were Earldeen and Edith. [maiden names not available this date]. He died (not known cause) at Walson Army Hospital, Ft. Dix, NJ (soldier). April 2007 Jean reported that Verlon was a soldier home on leave from Korean duty scheduled to return to Korea when he contracted pneumonia 1958 and died at the military hospital at Ft. Dix. He was buried in the Arlington, VA National Cemetery. However, she had divorced him in 1958 at Des Moines, IA while pregnant with Jackie (Jean's mother, Helen, saw the daughters just before she died). The background of meeting Verlon was summarized by the situation where Jean's father (John) sent her to stay with some of his relatives in Levistown, PA. From there Jean went to Leesville.LA in 1955 at the invitation of a friend there and met Verlon. They soon married (about Feb. 1956) and Jean promptly became pregnant with Robin, born 10 Jan 1957. She said that Verlon had be married before and married again after she divorced him (he was not inclined to stay monogamous).
