Eld. Varnum Hull died on Rock River, Milton, Wis., March 22, 1885, aged 74 years, 1 month, and 26 days. He was a son of Eld. Richard Hull, and born in Alfred, N. Y. He confessed Christ when quite young, and was ordained to the gospel ministry in June, 1842, and during his life was pastor of ten churches - five East, and five West. He was at the time of his death, Missionary pastor of the Rock River Church. He possessed remarkably keen logical powers, was a champion in debate, brave and self-sacrificing in advocating what he believed to be truth. Few men among us have dealt heavier blows against infidelity in its various forms. He will be much and extensively missed.
