There was an Eli(e) Pugh family in Morgan Co. in 1820, three households from Tolbert Rock* Jr.

Or may have been a Monical, based on the thin evidence that Thomas Rockwell was named as a defendent in a suit against the estate of George Monicle (abt 1812, Berkeley Co., VA).

Top's brother Jesse was married to a Native American. John J. may have been somewhat estranged from his father's second family - to this day relatives in Berkeley WV will not listen to evidence that their ancestor TT (Top) had a child by a first wife.
