    The wife of James Russell was identified in the 1779 Will of John Lawrence:
    "Will of John Lawrence, 1779, Frederick County; wife Jean; $10 to each unnamed daughter; deceased daughter who was wife of James Russell. From Frederick County Will Book I, page 3, copied by Mrs. Moss."

    James' first wife was perhaps named Harriet. See Note 1.
